Between the Pegasus Brewery and across from the Joule, young Black socialites could be seen slipping into an unlabeled doorway on Elm Street in Downtown Dallas. The reason? Hundreds of ‘Beto For Texas’ enthusiasts filed into Fair Park this past Sunday to celebrate Beto O’Rourke’s announcement that he will be running for Governor of Texas in 2022.

Churches will host health care clinics to fight inequities in southern Dallas County

Several Dallas ministers have agreed to host health clinics in their churches to help underserved communities in southern Dallas County.

The Dallas Wings Community Foundation, a 501c3 public foundation affiliated with the WNBA’s Dallas Wings, recently raised money for the foundation in a very unique way.

Texas Democratic Candidates and Officials gather for a “Very Blue Social Mixer”

Stressing the importance of a unified Democratic Party, radio personality and publisher Alvin Green encouraged fellow Democrats to support one another during Democratic Monthly’s Fall 2021 Publication Kickoff Monday evening.

“We need to turn Tarrant County blue,” urged Mr. Green, who hosts DemTalk360 a forum where candidates discuss issues and politics. “We have to work together!”

State Fair of Texas vendors donate food to local food shelves and pantries

It was the morning after more than 2.2 million attendees exited the State Fair of Texas’ grounds, closing out the 2021 season; but Big Tex was still standing tall for a noble cause, feeding the less fortunate.

As has been the tradition since 2015, the State Fair Cares Initiative involves vendors collaborating with Fair Park administrators, local churches, food shelters and pantries to redistribute unused and leftover produce and non-perishables.
